Birding habitats in the county of Nottinghamshie vary from the Trent Valley region with the River Trent and its numerous gravel pits to the extensive woodlands and heathland of Sherwood Forest and the private estates in the north of the county.
With an long history of mining in the county, Nottinghamshire also has many redundant pit tops that are now a haven for birdlife.
We also have several reserves, from Attenborough in the south to the Idle Valley Nature Reserve in the north.
The links opposite are to county site guides, kindly written by various birders who have a good knowlege of these individual sites.
All of the maps for this site guide have been very kindly produced by Pete Lane.
If anyone has details for sites not listed, and would like them added to this site guide, could you please send them to nottsbirders@gmail.com
