Warren Hill - Osprey [10:10 circling over then heading West].

Hoveringham - Arctic Tern [adult plus juvenile/1st winter on Sailing Lake].
Bulcote Farm - 60 Tree Sparrow, 2 Yellowhammer, 30 Lapwing, Ruff [juvenile by River Trent].
Shelford - Long-tailed Skua [14:56], 35 Swallow, 12 House Martin [to SE], Jay, Barnacle Goose [on River Trent with Canada Geese].
Holme Pierrepont - Blott's Pit: 6 Eurasian Wigeon, Common Snipe. A52 Pit: 150 Eurasian Wigeon, 80 Common Pochard, 35 Gadwall, 12 Lesser Black-backed Gull, Great Black-backed Gull.
Barton-in-Fabis - 16 Common Buzzard [in the air at the same time viewed from Attenborough.
Attenborough Nature Reserve - 1 Common Tern.
Collingham - New Workings: 3 Dunlin, 1 Ruff, 6 Common Snipe, 3 Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper.
Besthorpe - 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Little Stint [pit immediately North of Collingham New Workings].

Netherfield Lagoons - 2 Northern Wheatear [railway land - to NW], Slurry Lagoon: 75 Lapwing, 25 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 4 Common Gull [2 adults, 2 juveniles], 2 Great Black-backed Gull, Argentine Blue-bill, Blackcap. Fishing Pit: 65 Eurasian Wigeon, 45 Gadwall, Chiffchaff, Green Sandpiper [viaduct], 25 House Martin, 15 Swallow, 8 Meadow Pipit [mostly moving NW].
Stoke Bardolph Sewerage Works - Grey Wagtail, 2 Redwing.
Collingham - New Workings: 3 Dunlin, 1 Ruff, 3 Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper.
Langford Lowfields - 1 Northern Pintail.
Kilvington New Lake - 80 European Golden Plover.

Eakring - c.1800 Redwing [to West].
Chilwell - c.140 Pink-footed Goose [over at 11:15 calling continuously, flew to the East at an altitude of about 1,000 feet].
Bingham - Redwing.
Hoveringham Gravel Pits - Railway Lake: 3 Goldeneye [females], 6 Siskin, 2 Lesser Redpoll, 12 Redwing, 7 Northern Pintail [flew off the Railway Lake and flew NW].

Wed 26th Sep

Nuthall - 4 Redwing [through NW].
East Leake - c.300 Pink-footed Goose [200 over in 4 formations heading SE at 09:00 and another 100 at 09:15].
Arnold - 210 Pink-footed Goose [SE at 09:20], 10 Siskin [SW].
Nottingham City Centre - 2 Peregrine.

Tue 25th Sep

Lound - 1 Great White Egret [15:17-15:29 on Neatholme Scrape. Flew high to North. Bird seen earlier at Newington till 11:10 before it flew South-East.
Basford - Jay [Vernon Park].
Arnold - 1 Redwing [SW AT 14:00], 3 Chiffchaff [Douro Road area].
Collingham - New Workings: 8 Eurasian Wigeon, 11 Little Egret, 1 Common Snipe, 4 Common Greenshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper.
Langford Lowfields - 8 Little Egret, c.250 Eurasian Teal, 1 Northern Pintail, 1 Common Snipe, 1 Green Sandpiper.
Kilvington - c.200 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Yellow-legged Gull [adult winter].
Sutton Bonington - Yellowhammer [Landcroft Lane], 30 Lapwing [Hungary Lane], 15 House Martin [flying south].

Colwick Country Park - Hobby, 27 Jackdaw, 150 Starling, 110 House Martin [to SE in small parties], Mandarin, 2 Red-crested Pochard, 2 Gadwall.
Shelford - Long-tailed Skua [In fields off Manor Road near the three old barns. Carole & James Fisher - Newton House Farm - would like to say a big thank you to all who dipped into their pockets for the collection - over £350 was raised for the air ambulance!], Northern Wheatear [possible Greenland race in stubble field close to Skua this afternoon.

Colwick Country Park - Trout Lake: Hobby, Yellow-legged Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, 3 Great Black-backed Gulls Mandarin, 3 Red-crested Pochard.
Bentinck Void - 1097 Meadow Pipit, 938 Swallow, 84 Linnet, 61 House Martin, 30 Pied Wagtail [all of these Travelling in either a southerly or south-easterly direction]. 2 Northern Wheatear, Hobby.
Netherfield Lagoons - 1 Hobby [hunting over the Deep Pit].
Collingham - New Workings: 3 Common Snipe, 3 Common Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper.
Shelford - Long-tailed Skua [In fields off Manor Road near the three old barns. If visiting at the weekend, please avoid parking in the yard at Shelford Manor Farm and probably best to avoid the the dangerous lay-by on Shelford Tops. The local farmer will open up a stubble field for parking 100 yards east of the dangerous layby on the sharp corner opposite Mill Farm at c.SK680421. Then proceed as before along the boundary of the Equestrian Cross Country Course, through the group of trees at the end and along the ridge on the Trent Valley Way, past the blue plough and then down the next field boundary to view the bird. ].

Shelford - Long-tailed Skua [juvenile still. In fields off Manor Road near the three old barns].

Tue 18th Sep

Attenborough Nature Reserve - 3 Little Egret [in the Coneries roost. Flew in separately a few minutes apart around 19:20, arriving from high altitude].
Shelford - Long-tailed Skua [present until 18:00 at least. From A6097 take the minor road to Newton and turn right at the first t-junction. Park in the lay-by near the sharp bend and take the path along the hedgerow with the equestrian centre on the right. Continue uphill and then left over the stile. Carry on to view the field on the left just passed the blue plough].

Colwick Country Park - Trout Lake: 80 House Martin, Yellow-legged Gull [log boom], Black Swan, Mandarin, 2 Gadwall.
Shelford - Long-tailed Skua [juvenile, 14:45 - 17:30 at least. In fields off Manor Road near the three old barns].

Collingham - 7 Little Egret, 2 Greenshank.
Kilvington - 1 Peregrine, 1 Hobby [west at 08:50], 2 Little Ringed Plover.
Holme Pierrepont - 1 Little Gull [juvenile], 2 Hobby, 1 Common Redstart [male], 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Common Snipe, Kingfisher, Barn Owl, Common Sandpiper, 180 Eurasian Wigeon, Northern Pintail, 14 Eurasian Teal, 8 Shoveler, Goldeneye [female], 3 Snipe, 20 Linnet.
Netherfield Lagoons - 2 Hobby, 1 Marsh Harrier [female, south at 12:00], 1 Sedge Warbler, 20 House Martin [heading S/E], 1 Sand Martin, 8 Common Snipe, 9 Chiffchaff, 4 Meadow Pipit. Plus: Lots of large dragonflies around the railway footpath area including 9 Migrant Hawker.
Strelley - 1 Grey Plover [west at 08:15], 88 House Martin [south].
Attenborough Nature Reserve - 1 Bar-tailed Godwit.
Bennerley Marsh - 50 House Martin [south].
Bestwood Country Park - Pit Tip: 7+ Meadow Pipit [Pit Top], 6+ Goldcrest [along Sustrans path], 1 Linnet, 1 Bullfinch, 1 Great Black-backed Gull [over, heading SW]. Mill Lakes: 3 Eurasian Wigeon [3 eclipse males south of peninsula], 1 Common Snipe [Still present], 2 Kingfisher [Perched and chasing at North end]. Leen Pastures: 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Green Woodpecker.
Holme Pierrepont - 1 Barn Owl, 1 Common Redstart [1st year male], 2 Hobby, Sparrowhawk.

Netherfield Lagoons - 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Snipe.
Holme Pierrepont - 1 Hobby [hunting Dragonflies over Blott's Pit], 1 Common Buzzard [over].
Ruddington - 1 Common Buzzard [over].
Hoveringham - New Workings: Common Buzzard, Green Sandpiper. Big Pit: 30 Lapwing, 5 Dunlin, 2 Common Snipe, Goldeneye [female], 3 Meadow Pipit, 3 Yellowhammer, 5 House Martin [old office block]. Farm Pit: 30 Eurasian Wigeon, 6 Gadwall, 4 Shoveler, 2 Egyptian Geese. Sailing Lake: 6 Swallow, 2 Great Black-backed Gull, 4 Herring Gull, 7 Lesser Black-backed Gull. Washings Pit: 8 Common Pochard, 4 Eurasian Teal, 40 Linnet.

Clifton Pond: Yellow-legged Gull, 3 Little Grebe, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Common Tern. Wet Marsh: 2 Garganey, 6 Shoveler, 3 Eurasian Wigeon, 2 Gadwall, c.20 Eurasian Teal, 1 Sparrowhawk [male].
Stoke Bardolph Sewerage Works - 2 Bar-tailed Godwit [juveniles], 3 Green Sandpiper, 16 Common Snipe.
Netherfield Lagoons - 3 Black-tailed Godwit, 4 Herring Gull, 6 Lesser Black-backed Gull, Yellow-legged Gull, 3 Chiffchaff, Yellow Wagtail, 7 Golden Plover [on ploughed field], Shoveler [good numbers], Common Pochard [good numbers], 20 Swallow [viaduct], 28 House Martin [Fishing Pit].

Bestwood Country Park - Mill Lakes: 1 Common Snipe [South side of Mud Island], 1 Little Grebe, 1 Kingfisher.
Colwick Country Park - River Boom: Great Black-backed Gull, Yellow-legged Gull. Migrant Trap: Chiffchaff, Great Spotted Woodpecker. Trout Lake: Mandarin, 5 Red-crested Pochard [4 males + 1 female/juvenile], 4 Gadwall.

Colwick Country Park - Yellow-legged Gull [river boom], Chiffchaff [migrant trap], Mandarin, 2 Common Pochard [Trout Lake], 12 Swallow, 2 Sand Martin.
Attenborough Nature Reserve - White-cheeked Pintail [escape on Tween Pond by car park near Visitor Centre], 6 Little Egret [roost site - small island on Coneries Pit], 30 Eurasian Teal, 70 Gadwall.

Attenborough Nature Reserve - Visitor Centre: 1 Sand Martin, 100 House Martin.
King's Mill Reservoir - 2 Reed Warbler, 4 Kingfisher, 150+ Lapwing, 1 Common Snipe, 6 Grey Wagtail [3 pairs].

Mon 10th Sep

Attenborough Nature Reserve - Hobby [perched in tree next to Delta reedbed, making frequent sallies to catch dragonflies over reedbed].
Colwick Country Park - Migrant Trap: Chiffchaff. Trout Lake: 23 House Martin, 18 Swallow, 3 Sand Martin, Mandarin [male], Yellow-legged Gull [log boom], Hobby [below sluice gates].

Sun 9th Sep

Annesley Pit Top - Avocet [until at least 19:20], 17 Common Buzzards.
Bentinck Pit Top - 1 Hobby.
Netherfield Lagoons - 1 Whinchat [female], 3 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Green Sandpiper, 9 Yellow Wagtail [through in ones and twos on passage. S/E direction], 1 Northern Pintail [female], 5 Meadow Pipit, 6 Reed Warbler, 1 Willow Tit, 7 Chiffchaff.
Lady Bay Bridge - 1 Sand Martin.
Holme Pierrepont - Blott's Pit: 2 Shoveler, 2 Eurasian Wigeon, Hobby. A52 Pit: 2 Hobby, 12 Eurasian Wigeon, Goldeneye [female], 80 Lapwing, 2 Swallow, 250 Black-headed Gulls, Lesser Black-Backed Gull, Herring Gull.
Moorgreen - High Park Wood and Reservoir: 6 Common Buzzard [adult & juveniles circling & tumbling], 2 Kestrel [hunting arable fields to the side of wood], 2 Goshawk [causing havoc among Rooks on pasture land next to Fir Wood].

Victoria Embankment - Grey Wagtail.
Attenborough Nature Reserve - Clifton Pit: 8 Common Snipe, 12 Eurasian Wigeon, Water Rail [calling], 2 Common Buzzard [Barton-in-Fabis side]. Barton Flash: 3 Little Egret. Sailing Pit/Sewerage Works: 100 House Martin, 70 Swallow, Common Whitethroat, Yellow-legged Gull.

Fri 7th Sep

Netherfield Lagoons - 3 Black-tailed Godwit [Slurry Lagoon from 10:30 until flushed by a Common Buzzard around 14:30], 7 Yellow Wagtail [on passage - single birds throughout the day, all heading S/E], 100+ Swallow [heading S/E around 10:45 and smaller groups and singles on passage throughout the day], 4 Reed Warbler, 9 Chiffchaff, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Northern Pintail [female on Slurry Lagoon all day], 45 Common Pochard, 23 Shoveler, 11 Eurasian Teal, Common Snipe, Argentine Blue-bill, 2 Kingfisher [river Trent].
Stoke Bardolph Sewerage Works - 5 Green Sandpiper, 3 Grey Partridge.
Bestwood Country Park - Pit Tip: c.2 Tawny Owl [calling at dawn], 4 Green Woodpecker [including 1 juvenile], 4 Jay, 1 Reed Bunting.
Bestwood Mill Lakes - 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Tawny Owl [calling], 1 Common Gull [over to NE], 71 Black-headed Gull, 5 Eurasian Teal, 6+ Gadwall, 2+ Bullfinch, 2+ Blackcap.
Clifton Grove - 1 Whinchat [on fence posts on the edge of the weir field near Beeston Weir at 19:30].

Collingham - New Workings: 3 Little Egret, 2 Eurasian Wigeon, 4 Ringed Plover, c.250 European Golden Plover, 9 Common Snipe, 2 Common Greenshank, 4 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper, c.100 Goldfinch [flock].
Cotham Flash - 2 Common Snipe, 3 Whinchat.
Kilvington Flash - 4 Ringed Plover, c.20 Pied Wagtail, 1 White Wagtail [non-breeding male with Pieds].

Tue 4th Sep

Netherfield Lagoons - 6 Common Buzzard, 1 Hobby, 2 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 3 Lesser Whitethroat, 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Willow Warbler, 2 Reed Warbler, 5 Willow Tit, 27 Common Pochard. Plus: Small passage of Swallow and Sand Martin noted at 10:30, 11:15 and 13:20 each group consisting of c.20-40 birds - all heading S/E.
Collingham - 7 Little Egret, 4 Greenshank, 4 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper, 2 Ringed Plover.

Mon 3rd Sep

Colwick Country Park - Racecourse: Hobby, 15 Swallow, Reed Warbler, Reed Bunting. Trout Lake: Chiffchaff [in migrant trap], Yellow-legged Gull [marina slipway], Lesser Black-backed Gull, Mandarin [male], 16 Little Grebe, 1 Swallow.
Collingham - New Workings: 19 Little Egret, 4 Greenshank, 2 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper.
Kilvington - 4 Ringed Plover, 2 Turtle Dove.
Bunny - 2 Twite [in the Linnet flock at the land-fill, flew South].

Holme Pierrepont - Hobby, Kingfisher, 4 Lesser Whitethroat, 5 Common Snipe, 2 Willow Tit.
King's Mill Reservoir - Mediterranean Gull [1st winter], 1 Hobby.

Hoveringham Gravel Pits - Farm Pit: 2 Egyptian Goose, 22 Shoveler. Sailing Lake: 3 Common Buzzard [Trent Hills]. Sailing Lake Flashes: White Wagtail, 2 Yellow Wagtail [adult & juvenile], Grey Wagtail. NNW Pit: Green Sandpiper.
Attenborough Nature Reserve - Yellow-legged Gull, Hobby, Mediterranean Gull [juvenile on Clifton pit], Little Owl, 3 Common Buzzard, Red-tailed Hawk [over Branshill Wood].
