Bunny Old Wood - 3 Coal Tit, 2 Fieldfare, 2 Common Buzzard.
Hoveringham GPs- Washings Pit: 3 Green Sandpiper, Redshank, Common Buzzard, 18 Common Gull, 60 Yellowhammer, Lesser Redpoll. Farm Pits: 30 Wigeon, 2 Shelduck, 5 Redshank, Green Sandpiper, 2 Oystercatcher, Ringed Plover, 4 Corn Bunting. Sailing Pit: 5 Redshank, Oystercatcher, Twite [winter male at far end of sailing pit, opposite Owl tree and between the sailing pit and the river pit feeding on a small spit with Grey Wagtails, Chaffinches and Reed Buntings, it then moved to the Oystercatcher island. Also note: a Twite had been seen in a garden in Bleasby village over the last couple of days. Big Pit: 180 Wigeon, 5 Goldeneye, 10 Goosander, 5 Redshank, Green Sandpiper. Annesley Lagoons - 9 Whooper Swan [present from 07:50 for about 20 minutes then circled and flew north], 2 White Wagtail, 1 Whimbrel [flew through to north at about 08:10, calling], 8 Mute Swan, 10 Tufted Duck, 8 Gadwall.Fri 23rd Mar
Netherfield Lagoons - Fly-ash Pit: 2 Snipe, 2 Green Sandpiper, Water Rail [calling], 4 Bullfinch. Deep Pit: Argentine Blue-bill. Fishing Pit: Whinchat [female], 4 Chiffchaff, Grey Partridge. River - south side: Shelduck, 30 Wigeon. Stoke Bardolph Sewerage Works: 37 Common Gull, 9 Great Black-backed Gulls, 2000 Wood Pigeon, 75 Teal, 12 Snipe, 150 Lapwing, 400 Golden Plover, 3 Chiffchaff. Plus: Huge v-shaped flock of 200+ birds, flying very high in north-westerly direction and very loud trumpeting call. Necks too long for geese. All birds appeared to be juvenile Whooper Swans.
