King's Mill Reservoir - 12 Snipe, Teal [good numbers], Pochard [good numbers], Common Gull [numerous with the Black-headed Gulls].

Colwick Park - 146 Tufted Duck [in a raft on the Trout Lake - 75% were male], 34 Lapwing, 1 Mandarin [on Trout Lake in the usual area], 4 Red-crested Pochard, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker [displaying to each other near West Lake], 1 Goosander [at the lock], 1 Willow Tit [near walled garden but beware of the anti-social behaviour that was going on there today - report it to the police if encountered], 2 Bullfinch.
Dunham Lakes - Brambling [male with mixed finch & tit flock in trees next to road entrance], 2 Goosander, 78 Mute Swan, 22 Pochard, 80 Tufted Duck, 220 Wigeon.
Attenborough NR - Bittern [from delta hide], Red-tailed Hawk [perched behind Barton Island].
Hoveringham - American Wigeon [drake still present on the Railway Pit].
Moorgreen Reservoir - 2 Treecreeper, 2 Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, 139 Black-headed Gull, 87 Coot, 13 Great Tit, 11 Blue Tit, 4 Nuthatch, 11 Ruddy Duck [inc. 4 males].

Holme Pierrepont - 3 Smew [1 male & 2 female mobile between Blott's Pit & Skylarks NR], 1 Knot [Blott's Pit], Kingfisher [Ski lagoon], Goldeneye [several on various pools], Pochard, Gadwall, Wigeon, Sparrowhawk, Peregrine, 32 Little Grebe. A52 Pit: 900 Wigeon, 150 Lapwing, 3 Goldcrest.

Stanford Hall East Leake - 4 Buzzard [circling as a group].
Sutton Bonington - 3 Tree Sparrow [on feeder], 1 Red-legged Partridge [in field opposite], c.100 Fieldfare [feeding in sheep field abeam the Agricultural College, Landcroft Lane]. c.50 Lapwing [feeding in field opposite farm, Hungary Lane].
Attenborough NR - Goosander [at least 13 on Works Pond], Shelduck, Lesser Redpoll [feeding in Alder opposite the Delta], Tree Sparrow [24+ on feeders], Pochard, Goldeneye, Shoveler, Teal, Grey Wagtail [Wheatear Field], Bullfinch [pair].Thu 25th Jan
Wollaton - Pink-footed Goose [about 300 to NW at 9.10].
Newark - Pink-footed Goose [2 skeins of 600+ flying NW over at 8.00am].
Carburton - Smew [redhead on lower lake till it flew off towards Clumber late afternoon. Present since Monday 22nd Jan 2007].

Hoveringham - 5 Whooper Swan [in field by gate to sailing club], American Wigeon [in Eurasian Wigeon flock north side of sailing lake], Tawny Owl [in tree south of sailing lake].
Attenborough NR - 4 Common Gull, Shelduck, Goldeneye.
Holme Pierrepont - Gadwall [small pond on right leading to ski tow], 3 Smew [1 drake and 2 females on the pit between the start of the regatta course and the Trent], 1 Redshank.
Arnold - 40 Pink-footed Goose [flying west].Mon 22nd Jan
Gedling - Peregrine [multiple sightings over a couple of days in a garden feeding on other small birds - observed for upto 30 minutes].
Holme Pierrepont - Gyrfalcon [grey phase bird on Blott's pit. Pity about the jesses and bell it was wearing. Seen later on in the grounds of Blott's nightclub being mobbed by Carrion Crows].
Fountaindale - 1 Brambling [with c.25 Chaffinch], c.15 Siskin, 4 Teal [on floodwater].
Sutton Lawns Park - Brambling [10 at least, mobile with flock of 100+ Chaffinches ].
River Trent - Victoria Embankment: Green Woodpecker, 2 Grey Wagtail. Clifton Bridge: 7 Goldeneye, 40 Pink-footed Goose [09:45 - over and west]. Beeston Rylands: Merlin [male], Common Buzzard.
Attenborough NR- Main Pit: 10 Goosander. Erewash Field: Stonechat [female], 7 Meadow Pipits Skylark.

Sutton Lawns Park - 25 Brambling [with large Chaffinch flock].
Kinoulton - 1 Barn Owl, 2 Little Owl [Vimy Ridge Farm. Barn Owl quartering over the fields for about 15 mins. Little Owls both sitting on the same gate post].
Holme Pierrepont - Finger Ponds: Green Woodpecker, 3 Goosander, Goldcrest, Kingfisher. A52 pit: 2000 Wigeon, 22 Goldeneye, 28 Redshank. Rowing Course: 2 Smew [male & female, adjacent pond with new openings], Redshank [on edge of rowing course], 4 Goldeneye [all female at the end of the rowing course]. Netherfield Lagoons - 150 Redwing [in the hawthorns surrounding the slurry lagoon], 2 Fieldfare, 12 Tree Sparrow [in the hedge near the entrance to the site], 2 Chiffchaff, [in the back hedge of the large fishing pit], 73 Wigeon [on large fishing pit], 1 Willow Tit [in railway bank hedge, near feeding station], 167 Lapwing [now roosting around new pits at the top of Teal Close], 35 Golden Plover, 7 Goldcrest [around the site in the hawthorn hedges].
Rainworth- Brambling [at least 3 with flock of a dozen Chaffinches t thon Hill School]

Sailing Pit: Smew [female], 240 Golden Plover [very high - to the south-west]. Delta: 2 Shoveler, 4 Gadwall, 2 Little Grebe, 5 Reed Buntings, Bittern [16:40]

Clumber Park - Greater Snow Goose [white morph flying west in a flock of Pink-footed Goose at approx 13.15]

Hoveringham - Big Pit: 70 Pochard, 250 Wigeon, Ruddy Shelduck species [SSP-Cape? flew west to east along pit], 4 Goosander, Redshank. New Workings Pit: 30 Teal, 60 Lapwing, Green Sandpiper, Common Buzzard. Sailing Pit: 4 Whooper Swans[main gate], Smew [female, nursery pit], 30 Goldeneye.
Bestwood Country Park - Big Wood: 1 Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, 2+ Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2+ Nuthatch, 2+ Treecreeper, 1 Long-tailed Tit [with no tail!]. Pit Top: 2 Green Woodpecker, 20+ Redwing. Mill Lakes: 1 Egyptian Goose [near peninsula], 2 Bullfinch [a pair], 3 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Little Grebe, c.10 Pochard, 5 Teal [4 male, 1 female]. Water Meadow: 2 Willow Tit, 5+ Redpoll, 2 Bullfinch [a pair]

Netherfield Lagoons NR - 2 Grey Wagtails [viaduct], 12 Shoveler, 3 Goldeneye, 30 Wigeon [south bank of Trent], Marsh Tit [path by the car auction perimeter].
Stoke Lock - Song Thrush, Nuthatch [Ferry Boat PH], 3 Goldeneye, 2 Stonechats
Edwinstowe - Male Goshawk [juv] - plucking and eating a blackbird on neighbour's back lawn. Observed for approximately 30 minutes.
Clumber Park - 10 Goosander, Marsh Tit [numerous], Nuthatch [numerous], 20+ Ruddy duck, 20+ Shoveler, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Greater Spotted Woodpecker, 3 Goldcrest, 4 Gadwall, 2 or 3 Little Grebe, 4 Egyptian Goose, 2 Shelduck.Thu 4th Jan
Shipley Gate Fields [Derbyshire] - 75 to 80 Skylarks on fields south of Shipley Gate plus 1 male Stonechat near Erewash close to MFN.
Hoveringham - American Wigeon still present on the Railway Pit until 14:30 at least.

Cottam Power Station Lakes - 5 Goldeneye, 2 Male Goosander, 7 Curlew.
Clumber Park - 1 Male Merlin - on Lime Avenue, half mile from main entrance. 12 Goosander, Ruddy Duck [numerous], Shoveler [numerous], 1 Male Mandarin.
Hoveringham - Washings Pit: 11 Great Black Backed Gulls, 11 Common Gulls, 70 Lapwing, Old Works Fishing Pit: 17 Shoveler. Big Pit: Drake American Wigeon [west bank-viewed from the humps - 14:30], Peregrine Falcon [pylon hopping]. River Pit: Drake Pintail, 24 Fieldfare, 3 Redwing, 3 Green Woodpeckers, Tawny Owl.
