- Tue 31st Jan: Nottingham - c25 Waxwings at Beechdale Baths (with Fieldfares, Redwings and Mistle Thrushes) 1115 - 1130
- Tue 31st Jan: Nottingham - 10.30 pm Peregrine on Newton building in its usual spot. Almost certainly a 2nd bird close by.
- Tue 31st Jan: Mansfield - 200+ piedwagtails in the roost opp Barclays bank @ 5am
- Tue 31st Jan: East Leake - 4 Common Buzzards circling Costock side of the Easl Leake village - moved north 1215
- Tue 31st Jan: Bestwood CP and Mill Lakes - Siskin - total of c60, Lesser Redpoll - 5+ [Mill Lake].
- Tue 31st Jan: Attenborough N.R. - 4 SCAUP(FEM),SMEW(FEM)main pond,red-crested pochard (church pond).
- Mon 30th Jan: West Leake - 300-400 Fieldfare in tall trees N.side of Brickyard Lane
- Mon 30th Jan: Nottingham - c20 Waxwings at Beechdale Baths again in the morning at least.
- Mon 30th Jan: Nottingham - @ 13.50.Nottingham City Centre, Newton Building, Peregrine, perched just below the mast array. Good views for several minutes then flew off following the general direction of Mansfield Road.
- Mon 30th Jan: Lound - No sign of drake Smew all day. Slavonian Grebe - Still on Chainbridge Pit. Whooper Swan - 4 reported on Clayworth Common but apparently no Bewick's. (Numbers do vary from day to day and birds do get on Neatholme Lane Pits). Stonechat - female/imm on set aside field between Chainbridge Lane and the old Windsurf Pit. Oystercatcher - 1 on Sutton Trout Lake (Doughty's Pit) Dunlin - 2 on Chainbridge NR Scrape.
- Mon 30th Jan: Dunham-on-Trent Lakes - 300 Wigeon, 75 Mute Swans, good numbers of common winter ducks plus 5000/10000 Starlings showing well over the village just before evening roost.
- Mon 30th Jan: Attenborough - The Little Egret was seen at 11.30am on Tween Pond but was disturbed by Gulls and few off westward. Water Rail on the Wet Marsh together with a Sparrowhawk that was hunting along the reed and tree line.
- Mon 30th Jan: Attenborough - Scaup x4[females on main pond],Stonechat and Grey partridge x2[Erewash field],Chiffchaff x2,Little Egret[Tween pond].
- Sun 29th Jan: Stoke Bardolph - 250 Golden Plover[on fields]
- Sun 29th Jan: Retford - at least 1 Waxwing in Kings Park around the ornamental fountain, @ 0815
- Sun 29th Jan: Nottingham - Up to 27 Waxwings early afternoon in Beechdale swimming baths car park, also getting into adjacent Ambulance station yard.
- Sun 29th Jan: Lound - Drake Smew - [Walter's Lane Pit, flew to Chainbridge Pit late afternoon]. 9 Whooper Swans [Clayworth Common], plus an unknown number of Bewick's Swans. Chiffchaff - single (un-ringed) in willow just south of Chainbridge Bridge, Slavonian Grebe [Chainbridge pit]
- Sun 29th Jan: Hoveringham [Railway/Big Pit] - 24 Goosander, 2 Redshank, Great Northern Diver [13:00]
- Sun 29th Jan: Hoveringham (Sailing Pit) - Snipe, 2 Black necked Grebes, 2 Western Yellow legged Gulls[poss.more], and at dusk female Merlin [every thing up].
- Sun 29th Jan: Hoveringham ("New" new Pit) - Green Sandpiper, Short Eared Owl [14:00 - on scrub at the very back of the New New Workings, near railway - flew into old trees.

- Sun 29th Jan: Clumber - up to three Hawfinches near the chapel.
- Sun 29th Jan: Attenborough - Bittern (flew over delta reedbed0 c1000, 4 Female Scaup main pond, 8 Goldeneye, 2 Bullfinches, c16 Siskins.
- Sun 29th Jan: Attenborough [Erewash Field] - Little Egret flying along the Trent. No sign of any Short eared Owls, 6/7 Fieldfares.
- Sat 28th Jan: Rainworth Waters - One Jack Snipe, near the horse paddock Neil Draycott almost stood on it!!
- Sat 28th Jan: Nottingham - c20 Waxwings in the Beechdale swimming baths car park, late afternoon.

- Fri 27th Jan: Silverhill Wood - 0745 Short Eared Owl, Redshank
- Fri 27th Jan: Retford - 2 Waxwings in Kings Park in Retford. Present all day until at least 1.30pm. There were 4 birds present yesterday but only two remain and are feeding on berry laden trees with other thrushes around the ornamental fountain lake opposite the entrance near the Police Station.
- Fri 27th Jan: Lenton - 100-200 Fieldfare, 50-100 Redwing, 500+ Starling, 30 Goldfinch on the Dave Eastwood Sports Ground, Lenton Lane (section running down to the Trent)
- Fri 27th Jan: Attenborough - 14 Goosander, Red head Smew [both Main Pond], plus Shelduck, Bittern showing well from hide,left side of reed-bed - 16:55 till dark, on the delta

- Tue 24th Jan: Balderton - Red Throated Diver at Balderton Lake, seen diving throughout main lake, still no sign of obvious injury, finally giving great views at duck feeding area at 4pm.
- Tue 24th Jan: Attenborough - 2 Goldeneye, 5 Snipe, 3 Common Gulls, Shelduck, 10 Goosander, Kingfisher, 2 Wigeon, 4 Chiffchaff (Sewage Works).

- Mon 23rd Jan: South Muskham - Black-necked Grebe on southern most fishing pit.
- Mon 23rd Jan: Lound - Slavonian Grebe still on Chainbridge Pit, also 9 Whooper and 3 Bewicks Swans on Clayworth Common.
- Mon 23rd Jan: Lenton - 12 Waxwings seen sat in trees at 12.45pm on Clifton Boulevard just past Showcase Cinemas.
- Mon 23rd Jan: Balderton - Red throated Diver still on the gravel pit at the bottom of Rowan Way.
- Mon 23rd Jan: Attenborough - Scaup x4[females,on main pond],Corn Bunting[sth of river,opp delta hide],Siskin x2[delta],Shelduck[works pond].
- Sun 22nd Jan: Welbeck Raptor Watch - Point - 6 Goosander [males], Peregrine Falcon.
- Sun 22nd Jan: Sherwood Forest - Tawny Owl
- Sun 22nd Jan: Lound - The Slavonian Grebe is still present at Lound on Chainbridge Pit (the pit south of the viewpoint along Chainbridge Lane before the river bridge) for it's 8th day. Whooper Swan - 9+ on Clayworth Common, Bewick's Swan - 2 on Clayworth Common, Brambling - 1 near entrance to Chainbridge NR Wood, Chiffchaff - one at the Parish Park on Neatholme Lane, Redshank - 2+, Treecreeper - 1 in Chainbridge NR Wood.
- Sun 22nd Jan: Hoveringham - Great Northern Diver back on the sailing pit and at least 1 Black-necked Grebe. A Common Sandpiper in field near level crossing.
- Sun 22nd Jan: Gringley Carr - 5 Mealy Redpolls in setaside and on wires near the pumping station. Also 100+ Corn Bunting, 100+ Tree Sparrow, 170 Reed Bunting and 80 Lesser Redpoll
- Sun 22nd Jan: Clumber Park - 2 Hawfinchs [behind chapel], also pair Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, 9 Goosander [females], Buzzard, Stonechat [female wetland], Water Rail [wetland].
- Sun 22nd Jan: Clifton Grove - Female Lesser Spotted Woodpecker showed well for over an hour on the edge of Clifton wood near the Alder Plantation, also a small number of siskin in the area. 2 Golden Plover in field near Beeston weir with a small group of Lapwing. 2 Stonechats still in the area between the weir and Holme pit.
- Sun 22nd Jan: Bestwood [Mill Lakes] - c60 Siskin, 16 Snipe.
- Sun 22nd Jan: Balderton - Red-throated Diver on the gravel pit at the end of Rowan Way and looking healthier today than for the past couple of days.
- Sun 22nd Jan: Attenborough - 3 Scaup, 1 Smew, Bittern, 20 Goosander, 6 Goldeneye, 5 Tree Sparrow.
- Sat 21st Jan: Silverhill Wood - 1, possibly 2, Short Eared Owls quartering rough ground on top of old pit top and being pestered by crows - 0800 hours
- Sat 21st Jan: Hoveringham - Great northern Diver [Big Pit], 2 Black necked Grebes [Sailing Pit], drake Smew [Training Pit]
- Sat 21st Jan: Holme Pierrepont - flotilla of 12 goldeneye on water ski lagoon, female stonechat on riverside footpath between Trent bridge and HP (near sailing club).
- Sat 21st Jan: Gamston - 2 drake red crested pochard regularly taking advantage of the duck feeding public on the canal behind Morrisons.
- Sat 21st Jan: Attenborough - 6 Snipe, 2 Shelduck [Works Pit], 19 Goosander, Chiffchaff [Wet Marsh], Water Rail. + Bat species [> < Sand Martin size].
- Sat 21st Jan: Attenborough - 14 Snipe and 1 Shelduck on Works beach, 5 Goldeneye, 19 Goosander, 10 Common Gull and 4 Ruddy Duck on Clifton Pond.

- Fri 20th Jan: Hoveringham [Sailing Pit] - 2 Black - Necked Grebes. Drake Smew + 8 Redshank + very possible, Tundra Bean Goose, among the Grey Lag Geese

- Tue 17th Jan: Harworth pit top - Fields near Harworth pit top, approx SK623891 A bird apparently been in the area for a week. Is said to be huge and has spent time on the ground. Seems worth checking out

- Sun 8th Jan: Ruddington CP - Green Woodpecker in Gibbes Wood along with large Tit flock incl.c10 Siskins @ 1200. Lesser black backed Gull on lake with numerous Black headed Gulls @ 1230.

- Sat 7th Jan: Nottingham - Peregrine on the Newton Building Trent University, on its apparently well used roost/perch spot... above the main entrance & just down from the battery of telecommunications masts.
- Sat 7th Jan: Hoveringham - Juvenile Great northern Diver now on the Railway Pit, Black necked Grebe [Sailing Pit], Smew [Apex pit, behind the sailing club house].
- Sat 7th Jan: Clumber Park - 5 Hawfinches by the Chapel.
- Sat 7th Jan: Attenborough - Scaup x3[females,church pond,13.30],Also R.C.Pochard.Rook c250-300,in field over river,next to barton flash.
- Sat 7th Jan: Attenborough - 8 Goosander, Shelduck [works pit], Willow Tit, Marsh Tit[triangle feeder], 5 Short eared Owls [Erewash Field]; Bittern [16:32] + 2 Grey Partridge [Delta]. Female Merlin on the the Wet marsh.
- Fri 6th Jan: Netherfield Lagoons - 4 Stonechat [3 males + 1 female], Snipe, Drake Red crested Pochard, 2 Shelduck, c60 Golden Plover.
- Fri 6th Jan: Hoveringham (Sailing Lakes) - 1430-1545: Black-necked Grebe; Smew (drake); Goosander (male & female); Caspian Gull. No sign of Great northern Diver.
- Fri 6th Jan: Attenborough - Bittern[delta hide],Redhead Smew[tween],R.C.Pochard[female,church pond],Willow Tit.
- Fri 6th Jan: Attenborough - 2 Stonechats (male & female)[Erewash Field], 3 female Scaups [Tween pond], Snipe [Clifton pond from hide], Great Spotted Woodpecker on feeders [new hide], Siskin [Delta area], 2 Willow Tits [trees by Barton Island].
- Thu 5th Jan: Ruddington - Sparrowhawk shot through garden feeder area, it appeared from nowhere and was too fast to see if a victim was claimed.
- Thu 5th Jan: Rainworth Waters - Water Rail, Kingfisher, Woodcock
- Thu 5th Jan: Nottingham - A Peregrine perched on Newton Building in the city centre, about 11am, gone an hour later

- Wed 4th Jan: Clumber Park - 9-10 Hawfinches seen in the chapel gardens, 10 Goosanders, 2 Shelducks 2, 15+ Shovelers, 20+ Ruddy Ducks, mainly female with the odd male, 4 Bullfinches.
- Wed 4th Jan: Clifton Grove - 2 Brambling, 1 Lesser Redpoll & 18 Siskin behind Clifton wood in the Alder plantation. 2 Stonechats on the track from the weir to Clifton wood.
