Radford - Merlin [female flew fast and low along the back gardens of the south end of Western Boulevard, the last stretch before the University's Jubilee Campus].
Netherfield Lagoons - 120 Redwing, 70 Fieldfare, Merlin [female]. Large Gravel Pit: 70 Eurasian Wigeon, Common Buzzard. Slurry Lagoon: Yellow-legged Gull, 2 Golden Plover .

Collingham - Northern Lapwing, Golden Plover [very large flock with Lapwings], 9 Grey Heron, 1 Red-crested Pochard [male], 2 Common Snipe, 3 Common Redshank, 1 Common Pochard [male], 1 Goldeneye [male], 1 Little Grebe, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Barn Owl, 8 Long-tailed Tit, 6 Fieldfare, Shoveler, Mallard, Tufted Duck, Eurasian Teal.
Nottingham City Centre - 1 Peregrine [scruffy individual on Newton Building].
Attenborough Nature Reserve - Main Pit: 8 Goosander. Clifton Pit: Common Snipe, 37 Fieldfare. Barton Side: Common Buzzard, Red-tailed Hawk.
Penny Pasture Common - 1 Jack Snipe, 4 Common Snipe, c.80 Fieldfare.

Wed 28th Nov

Clifton Grove - Holme Pit: Cetti's Warbler [calling again 15:30-15.45, seen very briefly but very elusive, Bittern seen at 15:20 [flew up out of the reed-bed and down again. Very elusive - only short flight views seen in the last few days].
Edwalton - Short-eared Owl [A52 near Wheatcroft roundabout].

Clifton Grove - Holme Pit: Cetti's Warbler [heard calling twice at 16:00 from the far left corner of the pit but couldn't be located], Bittern [seen very briefly in flight at 16:15], 5 Water Rail, Tawny Owl [calling in Clifton Wood].

Colwick Woods - Merlin [regular female bird wintering in the wood], Great Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch.
Nottingham General Cemetery - Brambling [male feeding with Chaffinches].
Collingham - New Workings: 1 Red-crested Pochard [male], 11 Common Goldeneye, 3 Common Redshank, 1 Chiffchaff, c.250 Fieldfare [in area], c.100 Redwing [in area].
Langford Lowfields - 27 Gadwall, 2 Dunlin.

Sun 25th Nov

Clifton Grove - Bittern [showing well at 13:00 on Holme Pit], 7 Water Rail [calling], 60+ Siskin, 1 Brambling [in the Alder Plantation].
Hucknall - adjacent to Old Linby Pit Tip and Allotments: Bullfinch [1 male & 2 females], Goldfinch [numerous], c.5 Greenfinch, c.5 Chaffinch, 1 Coal Tit, 6+ Long-tailed Tit, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Blackbird, 1 Wren, c.3 Dunnock, c.5 House Sparrow, 10 Starling, 1 Robin, 2 Collared Dove, 1 Woodpigeon, 1 Jay, c.5 Magpie.
Bestwood Country Park - Mill Lakes: 1 Water Rail, 5+ Siskin, 1+ Willow Tit, 1 Little Grebe, 3+ Snipe.

Sat 24th Nov

Clifton Grove - Bittern [seen briefly in flight at 16:30], 5 Water Rail [calling on Holme Pit].
Old Linby Pit Tip - Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker.
Colwick Country Park - 41 Shoveler [17 on Hall Lake and 24 on Trout Lake], 5 Red-crested Pochard, Mandarin, Goldeneye, 26 Gadwall, 19 Eurasian Wigeon [West Lake], Merlin [flying across the lake].
Hoveringham - Glaucous Gull [from 13:30 to 14:45 a first winter was present on the Sailing Lake and was constantly mobbed by Black-headed Gulls from around 14:45. Eventually headed SE], 2 Whooper Swan [present on the field to the left of the Sailing Club lane and present all afternoon].

Wollaton Park - 50+ Gadwall, 2 Red-crested Pochard, Goldfinch [numerous in mixed flock], Siskin [several with other finches].

Nottingham General Cemetery - Nuthatch, Jay [flyover].
Colwick Woods - Merlin [female again, hunting in the woods].

Colwick Race Course - 4 Common Gull, Common Snipe, Reed Bunting, Stonechat, 4 Meadow Pipit.
Colwick Country Park - Hall Lake: 14 Shoveler. Trout Lake: Mandarin, 4 Red-crested Pochard, 5 Common Goldeneye, 5 Siskin, Jay. West Lake: 24 Eurasian Wigeon, 14 Gadwall.
Collingham - New Workings: 8 Common Goldeneye, 4 Common Redshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 80 Fieldfare.
Besthorpe - 1 Dunlin.
Kilvington - New Lake: 1 Northern Pintail, 3 Common Scoter, 1 Peregrine, 150 European Golden Plover, 1 Dunlin.

Sun 18th Nov

Holme Pierrepont - Blott's Pit: Merlin [female on prey], 190 Eurasian Wigeon, 2 Common Redshank, 20 Linnet. A52 Pit: 14 Common Goldeneye, Common Redshank, 40 Fieldfare, 25 Redwing.

Sat 17th Nov

Kilvington - New Lake: 3 Common Scoter, Greater Scaup.
Nottingham General Cemetery - 2 Nuthatch, Great Spotted Woodpecker.
Budby Common - 2 Great Grey Shrike, 5 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 5 Stonechat, 25 Siskin, Goldcrest, 3 Common Buzzard.
Clifton Grove - Bittern [seen in flight at 09:00 and again out in the open showing well at 16:15 until dusk], 6 Water Rail [calling], 7 Stonechat.
Colwick Woods - 1 Merlin [female on prey in the wood, feeding on a Starling].
Attenborough Nature Reserve - Bittern [flew in from right and landed in reeds opposite Delta hide at 12:20], Jay, 2 Goosander [Works Pond], 2 Common Goldeneye [male on Clifton Pond and another on main pond].

Welbeck - Great Lake: Great Black-backed Gull, 2 Goosander, 2 Common Buzzard, 5 Nuthatch, Treecreeper, 2 Coal Tit, Marsh Tit, Willow Tit.
Budby Common - 2 Raven [southern stand of conifers], 2 Stonechat, Common Crossbill [western stand of conifers], Budby Pumping Station: 7 Tree Sparrow, 3 Woodlark.
Attenborough Nature Reserve - 2 Bittern [roosting at front of reedbed 60m apart, one to left of, and one well to the right of the hide till dark at 16:45].
Kegworth [Leicestershire] - Long Lane: Redwing, c.150 Fieldfare, Little Owl [in tree by model aircraft field].
Sawley Marina [Leicestershire] - c.50 Eurasian Wigeon [feeding in nearby gravel pit], 6 Tree Sparrow [on feeders].
Budby Common - 1 Great Grey Shrike.

Thu 15th Nov

Thoresby - Great Grey Shrike [a second Great Grey Shrike in the area seen within private grounds of Thoresby Park approx 1 mile from Budby. This second bird seems much more approachable than Budby bird].
Collingham - South of RSPB hide: 1 Kingfisher, 2 Goldcrest, 4 Goldfinch, 1 Barn Owl [north of hide flying from fencepost to fencepost].
Colwick Woods - Goldcrest, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Green Woodpecker. Nottingham Racecourse: Common Snipe, 2 Stonechat, 7 Meadow Pipit. Hall Lake: 7 Shoveler, Grey Wagtail [hall roof]. Trout Lake: 29 Common Pochard, 6 Common Goldeneye, Mandarin, 3 Red-crested Pochard, Eurasian Teal, Yellow-legged Gull. West Lake: 20 Eurasian Wigeon, 17 Gadwall.

Colwick Woods - Woodcock, Merlin [female], Treecreeper, Coal Tit, Willow Tit, Great Spotted Woodpecker.
Kilvington - 6 Common Scoter, 100+ European Golden Plover, 500+ Northern Lapwing, Peregrine.
Collingham - New Workings: 1 Red-crested Pochard [adult male], 8 Common Goldeneye, 2 Peregrine [adults], 100 Northern Lapwing, 2 Dunlin, 2 Common Redshank, 3 Green Sandpiper, 150 Fieldfare.
Budby Common - Great Grey Shrike, c.4 Stonechat.

Attenborough Nature Reserve - Erewash Field: Common Buzzard, 4 Stonechat. Sailing Pit: Lesser Black-backed Gull, Yellow-Legged Gull. Cifton Pit: Merlin [female], Common Snipe. Main Pit: 3 Goosander. Delta: Bittern [17:05], Woodcock, Water Rail.
Nottingham City Centre - 50+ Pied Wagtail [on roof of Chapel Quarter, Mount Street and nearby buildings].
Beeston - 17 Whooper Swan [flew over Beeston weir at 07:30 heading in the direction of Attenborough], 2 Goosander [females also on the weir].
Attenborough Nature Reserve - 31 Tree Sparrow [seen leaving roost site], 3 Water Rail [calling continuously on Holme Pit just prior to first light].
Kilvington - 6 Common Scoter [New Lake].
Sutton Bonington - Hungary Lane: 6 Long-tailed Tit, Bullfinch [female], Tree Sparrow, c.80 Northern Lapwing, 20 Golden Plover, Common Buzzard.
Budby Common - Stonechat, Great Grey Shrike, Merlin.

Burton Joyce - 1 Woodcock [an individual in a garden].
Clarborough Tunnel Nature Reserve - 8 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Willow Tit, 1 Yellowhammer, 35 Redwing, 28 Collared Dove [flock at Sturton High House area].
Tollerton Areodrome 12 Whooper Swan.
Grantham Canal - 4 Meadow Pipit, Yellowhammer, 20 Redwing, 94 Collared Dove [single flock].
Holme Pierrepont - Merlin [female, with prey on land between Blott's & A52 Pit], 30 Fieldfare. Blott's Pit: 5 Common Snipe, Common Redshank. A52 Pit: 18 Common Goldeneye.
East Leake - Lesser Redpoll [on garden feeders].
Attenborough Nature Reserve - Bittern [Flushed by Heron from Delta Reed-bed].

Annesley Hall - 2 Common Buzzard [over copse east of hall], 1 Stonechat [in weed field in front of hall].
Welbeck Raptor Watchpoint - Common Buzzard, Common Gull, Willow Tit, Coal Tit, 5 Grey Partridge.
Budby Common - 2 Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel, Merlin, 5 Grey Partridge, Goosander [male towards Clumber].
Kilvington - 3 Common Scoter.

Attenborough Nature Reserve - 5 Goosander [1 adult male, 1 immature/eclipse male & 3 females - Clifton Pit], 13 Little Grebe [12 Church Pond, 1 Coneries Lake].
Gunthorpe Gravel Pits- 2 Stonechat, 5 Meadow Pipit, 27 Fieldfare, 31 Northern Lapwing, Common Snipe.
Kilvington - 8 Common Scoter.
Hoveringham - Sailing Lake Fields: 3 Whooper Swan, 72 Northern Lapwing, 1 European Golden Plover, 4 Red-legged Partridge, 5 Redwing, 4 Fieldfare, 1 Sparrowhawk [through]. Sailing Lake: 1 Greater Scaup, 40 Eurasian Wigeon, 12 Common Goldeneye, Common Redshank..

Colwick Country Park - Racecourse: Stonechat [racecourse pool], 6 Meadow Pipit, 21 Jackdaw. Hall Lake: 5 Shoveler. Trout Lake: Mandarin, Black Swan, 3 Red-crested Pochard, 6 Common Goldeneye, 3 Common Gull, 2 Kingfisher. West Lake: 25 Gadwall, 12 Eurasian Wigeon.
Nottingham University - 1 Little Grebe [Jubilee Campus - close to west side of lake by NCSL, first record this winter].

Kilvington - 8 Common Scoter [on New Lake].

Mon 5th Nov

Attenborough Nature Reserve - 1 Bittern [roosting from 16:45 onwards in front of Delta hide], 45 Eurasian Wigeon, 2 Woodcock [flew out at dusk towards Clifton fields to feed from Delta woods].
Hoveringham - 2 Whooper Swan [adults viewed from the track to the Sailing Club.]

Holme Pierrepont - Skylarks NR: Siskin, Willow Tit, Great Spotted Woodpecker. Blott's Pit: 5 Common Redshank, 25 Redwing, 14 Fieldfare, 2 Mistle Thush.
Annesley Pit Top - 5 Lesser Redpoll, 1 Siskin.
Brierley Forest Park - 1 Bohemian Waxwing [Huthwaite end of the golf course, above footpath].

Hoveringham Gravel Pits - Big Pit: 300 Eurasian Wigeon, 22 Common Pochard, 8 Goldeneye, 2 Common Redshank, 2 Common Snipe. New Workings: Common Buzzard, 3 Yellohammer, 3 Common Redshank, Green Sandpiper, 7 Goldeneye. Sailing Lake: 2 Yellow-legged Gull [in roost], 2 Common Redshank, 5 Shoveler.
Gunthorpe Gravel Pits - Jack Snipe, 6 Common Snipe, 2 Water Rail, 2 Green Sandpiper, 200 Eurasian Wigeon, 30 Common Pochard, 6 Willow Tit, 18 Bullfinch, 25 Song Thrush, 2 Lesser Redpoll.

Netherfield Lagoons - Slurry Lagoon Pit: 2 Northern Pintail [male & female], 35 Shoveler, 42 Eurasian Teal, 75 European Golden Plover, 170 Northern Lapwing, 4 Common Snipe. Fishing Pit: 70 Eurasian Wigeon, 25 Redwing, 50 Fieldfare, Goldcrest.
Stoke Bardolph - Sewerage Works: Green Sandpiper, 30 Eurasian Teal.
Collingham - New Workings: 2 Common Goldeneye, 1 Common Redshank, 4 Green Sandpiper, 2 Kingfisher.
Besthorpe - Pit north of Collingham New Workings: 600+ European Golden Plover, 150+ Northern Lapwing, 1 Common Snipe.
Langford Lowfields - c.100 European Golden Plover, 390 Northern Lapwing, 1 Common Redshank, 8 Common Snipe.

Papplewick Pumping Station - 1 Little Grebe, 3 Mute Swan, 2 Mallard [All moved onto the new lake opposite the pumping station].
Colwick Country Park - West Lake: 28 Eurasian Wigeon. Trout Lake: 35 Common Pochard, 4 Red-crested Pochard, Mandarin, Aythya Hybrid [Pochard x Tufted Duck]. Migrant Trap: 6 Siskin. Loop Bank: 2 Goldcrest. Hall Lake: 5 Shoveler.
