Sun 24th Dec 2006 : Rufford CP - 2 Hawfinches present at least.
Sun 24th Dec 2006 : Normanton on Trent Holmes - 1 ringtail Hen Harrier
Sun 24th Dec 2006 : Hoveringham Railway Pit (Big Pit) - 1 female immature Peregrine (yet another Moorhen bites the dust), 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Curlew, 1 Redshank, 14 Goldeneye, 1 Goosander.
Sun 24th Dec 2006 : Gringley Carr - 10 Twite and c40 Corn Buntings in fields by the pumping station.
Sun 24th Dec 2006 : Colwick CP - Racecourse: 2 Brent Geese still present till around 2.25pm but were flushed by fat dog walker and spouse and manic spaniel but looked like they landed on the racecourse pond. West Lake2 Brambling flew past the West Lake and over the Hall at 2.30pm and with one bird calling, they flew together very tightly and seemed to be passing through from the S/W and heading N/W. 2 Treecreepers amongst large Tit flock near the Hall. 1 Greater Spotted Woodpecker 3 Bullfinch 7 Wigeon on trout lake plus very good numbers of Pochard and Tufted Ducks and Gadwall.
Sun 24th Dec 2006 : Colwick CP - Race Course: 3 Common Snipe, Jack Snipe; West Lake: 33 Wigeon, 2 Goldeneye [1 male & 1 female]; Trout Lake: 24 Shovelers, 7 Red-Crested Pochards [5 males & 2 Females], Drake Mandarin, Drake Greater Scaup, Black Swan; Holme Lock 3 Lapwings.
Sun 24th Dec 2006 : Attenborough - 35 Goosanders (Main pit and Works Pit), Goldcrest, male Goldeneye (Main pond), Shelduck (Works Pond).
Sat 23rd Dec 2006 : Hoveringham - 3 adult Whooper swans plus a juvenile, still present in kale fields near the sailing lake entrance.
Sat 23rd Dec 2006 : Colwick CP - Race Course: 2 Brent Geese [pale bellied]; Nature Reserve: Tree Creeper, Goldcrest; Trout Lake: Drake Greater Scaup, Drake Mandarin, 34 Shovelers, 7 Red-Crested Pochard [5 male & 2 females], 3 Goldeneyes [1 male & 2 females], Black Swan; Orion Stretch: Tawny Owl [dusk].

Fri 22nd Dec 2006 : Lound - Walters Lane 1 Treecreeper, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 1 Little Owl and 40 Fieldfares; Chainbridge Pit - 10 Red-crested Pochards (inc 6 males) and 2 male Goosanders; Walters Lane Pit - 4 male Goosander. Clayworth Common - 2 Stonechat(a pair), 1 Buzzard, 145 Mute Swans and 1 Black Swan; Neatholme Scrape - 7 Goosanders (inc 1 male), 11 Shelducks, 4 Pintails (inc 3 males) and 1 Oystercatcher. The Willows - 60 Fieldfares, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 1 Little Owl and 1 female Sparrowhawk. Linghurst Wood - 3 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 30 Redwings, 8 Bullfinch, 6 Goldcrests and 1 Green Woodpecker. Lound Sewage Works - 2 Grey Wagtails, 3 Coal Tits, 16 Pied Wagtails and 4 Goldcrests.

Thu 21st Dec 2006 : Beeston Marina - 13 Goldeneye [6 males & 7 females], 1 Sparrowhawk [male].
Tue 19th Dec 2006 : Mill Lakes, Bestwood. - Snipe, 15. Water Rail, 1 on small island at N end of lake
Mon 18th Dec 2006 : Colwick CP - The Annex: Green Woodpecker, Goldcrest, Fieldfare; Race Course Pond: 3 Common Snipe; Nature Reserve/Hall Lake: 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 12 Shovelers, 2 Goldcrests, Trout Lake: 25 Golden Plover [over,high & to the west], 30 Lapwing [east bank], 4 Goldeneye, 7 Red-Crested Pochard [5 males & 2 females], Drake Mandarin, 4 Redwing.
Mon 18th Dec 2006 : Attenborough - Bittern[delta],Pair stonechat[Erewash field].
Sun 17th Dec 2006 : Lound - Neatholme Pit - Single drake 'Lesser Scaup type' Aythia hybrid with Pochard and Tufted Ducks. Initially asleep on pit but later flew off towards Neatholme Scrape. Bird resembles a drake Lesser Scaup on size, structure and plumage colour but shows a Tufted Duck like bill pattern, a slightly darker and less defined vermiculations on the mantle and in flight has a white wing stripe extending past the secondary flight feathers onto the primaries. Believed to be a Tufted x Pochard hybrid. Chainbridge NR Scrape - 4 Redshank. Neatholme Scrape - Single Water Rail flew from lane and over edge of pit towards Water Ski Pit, 4 Red-crested Pochard, 1 Pintail and 22+ Cormorant. Clayworth Common - Single Buzzard. Neatholme Lane - 2 Brambling and several Tree Sparrows. Walter's Farm - 65+ Collared Dove around farm. Please report any illegal quad or motorbike incursions on the SSSI areas to the Nottinghamshire police on (01909)500999 stating time, whereabouts, any registration numbers and any details about these offenders. anyone found shooting and fishing on the sssi should also be reported to either the police or directly to tarmac who own and manage the site
Sun 17th Dec 2006 : Colwick CP - Trout Lake: Greater Scaup, 3 Red-crested Pochards ( 2 male, 1 female); Hall Lake: Male Pintail still there, female Sparrowhawk, 20+ Rooks present at the rookery.
Sun 17th Dec 2006 : Attenborough - Bittern -- again 1 roosting in reeds opposite the delta hide, also 2 Redpoll sp in the Delta.
Sun 17th Dec 2006 : Attenborough NR - Delta Gate: Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Willow Tits, Marsh Tit; Main Pond: 24 Goosanders; Wet Marsh: 2 Goldcrests; Clifton Pit: 2 Buzzards [Barton Side], 30 Golden Plover [over & to the east]; Delta: 6 Dabchicks, Water Rail, Bittern [16:10-showing well,briefly], 8 Wigeon.
Sat 16th Dec 2006 : Hoveringham GP - Washings Pit: Shoveler, Goosander [over], 200 Lapwings, 30 Golden Plovers; Big Pit: 700 Wigeon, 5 Goldeneyes, 11 Goosanders, 11 Redshanks, 4 Meadow Pipits; New Workings: 25 Teal, Shelduck, Peregrine Falcon [trying to eat Shelduck !], Buzzard, 2 Green Sandpipers; Sailing Pit: Kingfisher, 4 Whooper Swans [main gate], Merlin [main gate-row of trees & a barn to the right of the swans-New Farm], Green Sandpiper, Tawny Owl, Barn Owl (around the second gate).
Sat 16th Dec 2006 : Clumber Park - AM: 2 Hawfinches, far side of lake, in large old tree, a couple of hundred metres to left of small parking area to the left after bridge over lake.

Sat 9th Dec 2006 : Lound - Chainbridge Pit - 21 Red-crested Pochards (including 10 males) at southern end. Chainbridge NR Scrape - 17 Shelducks, 1 Oystercatcher and 1 Snipe. Windsurf Pit - 1 Redshank. Clayworth Common - 1 Peregrine, 8 Whooper (including 4 Juveniles), 1 Black & 113 Mute Swans plus several hundred Golden Plover & Lapwing. Neatholme Works Pit - 230 Great Black-backed Gulls. Also a max total of 24 Goldeneye various pits and c1,000 Black-headed Gulls.

Sat 2nd Dec 2006 : Barton-in-Fabis - male Stonechat on the hedge on the edge of the setaside field Barton-in-Fabis. Still large numbers of feeding Buntings and Finch’s on the millet on the edge of the set aside field

Fri 1st Dec 2006 : Holme Pierrepont - Goldcrest and treecreeper in tit flock near Blotts, 2 bullfinch, meadow pipits, mistle thrush and redwing. Kingfisher, grey wagtail, redshank and flotilla (12) of goldeneye on rowing lake.
Fri 1st Dec 2006 : Bestwood CP - Pit Top: Green Woodpecker, Song Thrush, 2 Coal Tit. Big Wood: Grey Heron [flying over], Great Spotted Woodpecker, 10+ Redwing, 4 Goldcrest, Nuthatch, 6 Jay.
